Kudos to your reporter Elizabeth Hsing-Huei Chou for her excellent story on railyard health risks in Commerce. We at USC have been evaluating the multitude of international trade and port-related health risks, including diesel exhaust exposure at railyards which are often located in close proximity to neighborhoods, and Elizabeth’s story is one of the most comprehensive out there. … Having good reporters at EGP covering local environmental health issues fills a very important gap as our mainstream media feels forced to cut back its own coverage. Thanks for your important publication and the wide audience it reaches.
