Legislation Sparks Immigration Marches:

I am disappointed that Eastern Group Publications does not strive for a higher quality of journalism in your news pages. Your news piece regarding immigration reform marches turned out to be a one-sided opinion piece for pro-legalization groups. Your reporter made no mention of any attempts to obtain comments from anyone in the Obama administration or from any organization opposed to illegal immigration (the “racists,” “far right” and “ones who don’t want Latinos to be represented in Washington,” as they were dismissively referred to). If you extensively quote the rants of one side in your news articles, practice good journalism and give opposing views opportunity to offer up the same. Leave the one-sided opinionating for the opinion pages. I don’t expect EGP to deliver Pulitzer Prize material, but I would respect you for striving for it.
