As the old saying goes, “Be careful what you wish for.”
While we need the rain — which is not too hard to live with when it comes in small doses — this week’s torrential downpours have caused a lot of problems on our streets and our hillsides.
In a short time, for some maybe already, the wicked weather will soon be but a memory.
But for the homeless and those struggling to make ends meet, the wet weather has been an added burden. Yesterday, the Los Angeles Homeless Service Authority issued a plea for any “available beds you might have for homeless families… right now or even beds that will be opening up in the next week or so.”
With the Christmas celebration now upon us and the New Year just around the corner, we should all take a moment to remember those who are struggling just to get by.
Let us give thanks for all of our blessings and pray for those less fortunate.
We hope that you will make this a Merry and safe Christmas and New Year, and enjoy time with family and friends and the peace the Birthday Child has brought us.
Merry Christmas, Happy New Year!
