More than any time in recent history, it’s clear the country needs to take time out to celebrate Thanksgiving.
This has been a grueling year. The divisive presidential campaign has left us very much divided as a nation.
Fears and anger may have some of us feeling there’s nothing to be thankful for this year, but that would be wrong.
Despite what may seem like insurmountable differences, problems and displays of man’s inhumanity to his fellow men, most of us have much for which we should be grateful.
In the last week, all across the Southland, and the country for that matter, we have witnessed thousands of people standing up for the rights of those among us who are most vulnerable, from the homeless to the undocumented, to the hungry and all the disenfranchised.
Volunteers across the Southland have fanned out to serve Thanksgiving dinners to those who would otherwise go without.
So this Thanksgiving, let us bow our heads and give thanks for any and all blessings we have, and take a moment to hope for a more charitable world in the future.
From the management and staff of Eastern Group Publications/EGPNews, our wishes for a Peaceful Happy Thanksgiving.
